Genre: Pop, Soft Pop

Top Tracks: Whichever Way The Winds Are Blowing, Christine, California
What's the Vibe? Roadtrips, Hot and Windy Days, Maxing & relaxing
I first discovered the music of Adam Wazonek (aka Soliterre) while watching longboarding videos. "Christine" caught my ear immediately with mentions of Saskatchewan sunrises.
From there I was hooked. Here is a lovely blend of rock, pop, country, and an edge of what I can only describe as Canadian down-to-earth vibes.
I love everything about this album. These songs seem to call to mind the feeling of moving, seeking, and finding. "Whichever Way The Winds Are Blowing" sings about starting over in nothing town and living an honest life. "California" wants to take you far away, where your troubles can't find you. "Drive" reminds me of days out for a drive trying to outrun your problems. "I'd Like To Know" asks desperately what it might be like to love someone. These are songs about the simple joys of living and of loving.
From a production standpoint I love the mixing and the way the drums come through particularly catches my ears. The twangy guitar is just enough and counterbalanced with lovely acoustic rhythm. The overall sound transports me to a little hole in the wall concert venue on a sweet summer night.
Want catchy lyrics? Check. Want great guitar playing? Check. Want music to sit on the hood of a car on a beach and watch the sun set? Check!
I chose my top tracks for the moment, but there are no bad songs here.
